Smectite mineral grinding in Punjab

Mineralogy was determined by grinding each sample in a ball mill until the powder passed a 200 mesh screen. Random specimen mounts were made of the resulting powder and analyzed using a Siemens D-500 automated X-ray diffractometer. Mineral composition was determined by comparison of data with the JCPDS mineral data file, and is listed in Table 3
